The Magic of Thinking Big - Intro

The Magic of Thinking Big argues that thinking big has tremendous power, which, ironically, is something I've begun to doubt lately. And so I picked up this book to see if it prove me wrong.

And after it does prove me wrong, my next question will be, is it the thinking that's causing this success or the actions that follow such thinking?

It's fascinating, on the very first page, the author claims that the size of a person's bank account, happiness or general satisfaction in life is as a result of one's thinking. I can't wait to read why he thinks this is true.

the way we think shapes the outcome

The author uses a selection of what used to be my favorite quotes,

like William Shakespeare who said, "There is nothing either good or bad, except that thinking makes it so." Another is by Milton, who wrote, "The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell and a hell of heaven."

These quotes by themselves don't prove that there's magic

in thinking big, just that the way we think shapes the outcome

of our lives. So let's read further for the proof.

The author goes on to claim that the basic qualities needed to realize success from this book are,

1) a desire for greater success and,

2) the intelligence to select a tool to help you realize that desire.

Do you have these qualities?

Great. Let's put them to work.

Oh, Lord. I've realized I'm a skeptic.

Has life beaten me and bruised me so badly

that I've lost faith and trust in myself?
