I remember the moment I got fed up.

I was in a bookstore buying yet another book on success.

I remember thinking to myself,

"I've been buying these books for the past 10 years,

and yet there's been no improvement in my circumstances."

"All the other books I’ve bought so far haven't helped me,

so why do I think this book will be any different?

Why haven't all the other books worked for me?

Why do I believe this particular book will work?"

Now, bear in mind, I was at a second hand book store.

The books themselves were not that expensive,

but the opportunity cost was significant.

Because I could use this money for something more useful.

And to top it all off, this happened on a Black Friday,

a day on which goods are supposed to be hugely discounted.

Now, before walking into the bookstore,

I had tried to buy shoes for my son.

And these shoes were massively discounted,

yet I couldn't afford to buy  the exact shoes I wanted,

I had to compromise and settle

for some other less impressive pair of shoes.

Because it had been three years since

I had bought anything for myself...

and yet I was still drowning in massive debt

and could scarcely afford to buy the things I really want.

I had seen a wonderful pair of shoes

that I thought would suit my lady,

but I didn't have the money to buy them.

I had seen an excellent pair of shoes that I thought

would be a perfect replacement for the worn out sneakers

I was wearing at that exact time,

and yet again, money (or the lack of it)

got in the way of my happiness.

 And that's the same week I realized

I had been shaming my lady for shopping,

not because she was buying crap she didn't need,

but because her spending didn't fit into my budget.

I Was A Loser...

And I was imposing my limitations on everyone around me.

It was a horrible experience. I Felt Inadequate...

And I tried to drown everyone around me in my inadequacy.

Something drastically needed to change.

In the preceding decade I had bought dozens of books,

but I didn't have the results to show for it?

In my estimation, it was because I hadn't done anything

with the knowledge I learned from these books.

It was as if I was reading novels.

It was as if I was reading for entertainment. 

How many more people are in the same position as I am?

How many more people are reading books and buying courses,

yet they have no clue how to put their learning into action?

Or Even Worse, how many more people have bought books

and haven't even read past the first chapter?

Could there be an opportunity here to contribute

to these people's lives and make it possible

for them to get value from these books

and make the positive changes they want to make

in their lives?
