The Success Alphabet (Part One)

Let’s have some fun with alphabets this week, From A to M.

And then next week we’ll bring it home with N to Z. This is part one

of the alphabets of success.  Please feel free to share your input

or to add other qualities that you think I’ve missed.

Ask:

Don’t be afraid to ask for direction when you are lost.  Ask questions when you’re uncertain.  Ask your customers what constitutes good service to them.  Ask for feedback on completed projects.  Feedback is the breakfast of champions, so ask… ask… and ask some more.

Believe:

Believe in yourself, in your products and in your ability to achieve your dreams.  Proceed with confidence and a positive attitude.  Believe that you deserve to succeed and that you will succeed.

Commitment:

Be committed to achieving your goals.  Be persistent in the face of hardships.  Don’t quit just yet, it’s always too soon to quit.

Desire:

All achievement begins with the desire to achieve.  Create a goal to work towards- create a vision for your life, and proceed with purpose towards your chosen objective.

Enthusiasm:

Be stimulated and inspired by your dreams.  Be enthusiastic and passionate to become all you want to be.  Stay young and alive with possibility.

Foundation:

Build your success on a steady foundation – a foundation that can withstand the challenges and difficulties you will inevitably face on your journey towards fulfilment and accomplishment.

Gratitude:

Be thankful for your achievements.  Be thankful for your talent and abilities.  Appreciate all you have and all you are.  Most importantly, appreciate life – it is very delicate and comes in limited quantities.

Happiness:

It’s a proven fact, your mood affects your performance.  If what you do does not inspire and make you happy, then ask yourself why you’re doing it. And then make the necessary adjustments.

Imagination:

Competition is rife in every business environment. To succeed you must differentiate your offering.  Provide a service that will make you recommendable.  Practice creativity and innovation.  Create a wow experience for your customers.

Justice:

Be fair and just in your dealings – offer tremendous value for the customer’s money – compensate your employees adequately – treat your customers, partners and suppliers ethically and with respect.

Knowledge:

Prepare your mind for continuous personal development.  Never stop learning, never stop improving.  Jim Rohn says that your income can only grow to the extent that you do.

Love:

Love what you do, only then will you do it well.  The better you are at doing anything, the more you will love it.  It is a pleasant cycle that leads to fulfilment, happiness and productivity.

Measurement:

Keep track of your progress – measure your performance against the guidelines you’ve laid down for yourself.  Play the game at your own pace, don’t move too fast because then you run the risk of burning out.  Don’t move too slowly either because you might lose momentum and wind up forgetting about your goals.

This is part one.  Let us know what you think

and what you expect to read in part 2 next week.
