"Rich people focus on the rewards, poor people focus on the risks," is the word we hear from Harv. He says, "Poor people make choices based on fear. Their minds are constantly scanning for what is wrong or could go wrong in any situation.  They're always asking themselves, what if it doesn't work?" As a result, they're afraid to take any risk. Rich people believe it will work because they'll make it work. Rich people expect to succeed. They're confident in themselves and their abilities. Rich people are self-determining. They decide what they want, and then they go after it. They do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. Poor people rely on fate - they let circumstances determine their outcomes in life - they don't take charge - they don't take control.

Taking risks doesn't mean throwing caution to the wind. It means you do your research and you take calculated risks. In the richest man in Babylon  we learned that the goddess of good luck favors those who do not procrastinate. She favors people who spring to action when they see a good opportunity, and have quickly calculated the risk to reward ratio. If the risk is more than you can handle, don't do it.

Harv reiterates that no luck will come your way unless you take action. What you focus on expands. If you focus on opportunities, then opportunities will expand. If you focus on obstacles, then obstacles will expand. Learn to focus on the thing you want. If you want to get rich, focus on making, keeping and investing your money. If you want to be poor, then focus on everything that could go wrong.

Rich people don't wait until they have everything lined up perfectly. They take action regardless of circumstances. They take action and then iterate, course correct, and make adjustments until they get it right.

If you want to win the game, you have to get in the game.

Action always beats inaction.
