Secrets of the Millionaire Mind - Wealth File 10

Rich people are excellent receivers.

Poor people are poor receivers.

Our conditioning from our early childhood makes us poor receivers. Even the bible tells us, "Blessed is the hand that gives."

Now, we all want to be blessed. And so we all wanna give,

but we don't wanna receive. What we miss is that if we're all givers, then there is no one left to receive, therefore, the cycle is incomplete.

The proper cycle is giving and receiving. It's not giving and giving and giving to no end. Plus, when we fail to receive, we deny the other person the opportunity to be a giver as well, we deny them the opportunity to be blessed as well. And then we run around telling ourselves we're good citizens, yet we're depriving other people of their blessings. Something to think about, ain't it?

Giving and receiving are equal in importance

because one cannot occur without the other.

Do you believe you're worthy of receiving all the good things the world has to offer, all the freedom and abundance of choice that comes with tremendous wealth?

Do you believe you deserve these things?

If not, Harv suggests it's time to change your story. Remember, nothing has meaning except the meaning we give it. So what does it mean to you to receive? Is that an empowering or disempowering story to you? Does it feel awkward to you when someone offers you something?

Do you feel the need to immediately pay them or return the favor?

If so, maybe it's time to come up with a more supportive story.

What people say to you doesn't matter. It only affects you if you believe what they say and act on it. What matters more is what you say to yourself, because those are the thoughts you can't escape, unless you're asleep or dead.

So everyday, stop and catch yourself thinking.

What are you thinking about, problems or opportunities?

How is this line of thinking affecting your mood and emotions?

Do you feel better or worse when thinking this way?

If you feel worse, maybe it's time to change your line of thinking.  Maybe it's time to rewrite your story.

Get up and take the actions

you need to take to get rich

And most poor people have the mistaken belief that being poor makes you more Godly, and more of a good person, kind of like a martyr mindset where you bring suffering upon yourself so that your people can live well.  And this just isn't true. Being poor doesn't make you a good person. It just makes you poor.

"How can you help the poor when you're one of them? How can you give to somebody else when you don't even have enough for yourself? Wouldn't it be more effective for you to create wealth for yourself and then be able to really help others from a place of strength instead of weakness?"

These are some powerful questions

Harv asks of anyone who thinks this way.

To be a good receiver, Harv suggests you teach yourself receiving by giving to yourself. He says you must create a play account for yourself. transfer 10% of your montly income and just blow it on yourself.

Do the things you really like, things that bring joy to your heart.

And he also suggests that you be grateful whenever you receive money, no matter how small the amount, whether it's a coin you pick up on the sidewalk, or change from a transaction you just completed, or even your monthly salary. The reason for this is that gratitude attracts abundance. Practice gratitude for every little thing and watch your luck change for the better.
