In marketing there's a concept called the Dream 100. Basically, you decide what result you want to achieve. You make a list of 100 people or companies that can give you what you want. And then you get close to them. You study them. You stalk them. You find out everything you can find out about these people or companies.
And most importantly, you find out what they lack...
what do they need that you can help them with? What gaps exist for them that you can close? What value can you add to them and their mission?
Effectively, you position yourself as the most logical solution to whatever problem they're facing. This way, you effectively eliminate any competition for your position.
While everyone is busy on recruitment websites and job portals sending out CVs that won't even be looked at, you should be making connections with the HR personnel, hiring managers of the companies you want to work for.
Instead of watching videos on YouTube all day, you should be connecting with HR departments and connecting with decision-makers at these companies.
Look at their company websites and figure out their company culture, their goals, their mission.
When you send your CV to the connection you've made, they should be able to tell that you've done your homework and that you will be a valuable addition to their company.
Send out a cover letter that is personalized for them, showing that you understand their needs, and that you are uniquely positioned to help them solve their needs and challenges, and also that you are a perfect culture match (if you really are).
Here's How You Get Your Dream Job In 2024 And Beyond:
Step 1: Identify 100 companies you'd like to for.
Step 2: Who are the important people(decision makers) in the company(department) who can give you the job?
Step 3: Research the company, (goals, mission, challenges, company culture, etc.)
Step 4: Delete every useless thing on your social media and follow only these companies and the important people within each company.
Step 5: Tailor your cover letter to address the specific needs you've identified for each company. Also update your CV to showcase what you can do for said company.
Step 6: In addition to sending out your CV and cover letter, call them directly and sell yourself (your professional skills) to these decision makers. Be friends with them, connect with them and develop a relationship with them.
