The authors reiterate that, "Greatness is not primarily a matter of circumstance; greatness is a matter of conscious choice and discipline. It is not a matter of what happens to you, but a matter of what you create, what you do, and how well you do it.
Now, just because you apply the principles found in this book, or any other book, is no guarantee that you will build a great company. All you've learned enhances your chances of building a successful company, especially compared to people who haven't learned or who don't apply these principles.
There are many forces that may cause you to fail, some self-inflicted, others forces beyond your control; either way, you must do your best. Fight for your dreams- pursue victory with all you've got - live with purpose, and make a decent profit in the process.
Specify the actions you will take, instead of using vague words that mean nothing like a politician. What will you do? How much of it? In what frequency (how often)?
Make it clear what to do and what not to do. When formulating a SMaC recipe ask, "What durable and specific practices best drives results.
The real question is this, whether you get good luck or not, "What are we going to do to get a high return on this luck? "
Remember what we learned earlier, "It's what you do before the storm comes that determines how well you do when the storm comes. Those who fail to plan and prepare for instability, disruption and chaos in advance tend to suffer more when their environments shift from stability to turbulence."
