Truth is, online and offline advertising should be combined
to make the most of your marketing dollars.
Always remember to include your website address
and contact details in all your offline material.
Since people practically live with their faces buried
in their phones nowadays, you want to make sure
that they can easily find you at the tap of a finger.
Offline Advertising Can Include:
Placing classified ads in local magazines or newspapers.
Posting flyers in your local stores.
Sending out direct mails to potential customers.
Distributing business cards at events you attend or organize.
Forming strategic partnerships with other business owners – paying them to insert your ads in their materials or you may advertise on their website and they advertise in yours.
Host free training sessions or classes to teach people how to do something. It must be related to your business. You can distribute your flyers to attendees, collect their email addresses and contact them in the future.
You can give away free goodies (fridge magnets, mouse pads, key holders, etc.).
Sponsor events and place your banners all over the show. Or you may volunteer to speak about a topic that you think you’re an in.
Billboards – if you can afford them. You can also do mobile billboards which are becoming incredibly popular these days.
Postcards, business cards and flyers – have a brief message about your business, why customers need to buy from you, as well as your contact details.
T-shirts and caps – print your name, website address and walk around your local shopping mall. Better yet, give T-shirts to family and friends; let them be your mobile billboards.
Car magnets – many eyes are exposed to your company message and website address when you drive around casually or on your way to work, especially in slow traffic. People get bored and they start reading anything that catches their eye. Make sure it’s your business that catches their eye.
Desktop calendars –are highly effective promotional items because people use them constantly to write down appointments, remember important dates, events and occasions, or to jot down notes, and even important phone numbers. You are providing a useful resource and a powerful reminder to potential and current customers that your business is ready and waiting to fulfil their needs.
Marketing is simple – create relationships. Provide a service.
Back up your claims with consistent action.
Try different combinations. Get good and then get better.
Try a few of these in your own business
and let me know how it pans out.
