Are You Obsessed With Your Business Or Just Going Through The Motions?

Who Wins?

I'll tell you why I ask.

I was watching a documentary this one time about a particular billionaire. In this doccie, he was asked about the people or situations that had shaped his entrepreneurial journey. His response was incredible. He mentioned this other multi, multi billionaire venture capitalist who asked him a surprising question. Now this wasn't a business question, but the venture capitalist made it explicitly clear that the whole deal hinged on him successfully or correctly answering this question.

Billionaires Be Crazy, Right?

The question is this:
"In a fight, who wins, the smart guy or the crazy guy?"

Do you know the answer?

Well, according to the crazy multibillionaire investor,

the crazy guy always wins.

Do you know why?
It's because the billionaire is crazy himself, so it makes sense that he wants the crazy guy to win. After all, crazy people stick together, right?

If that's the case, what does that say about us "supposedly normal" South Africans who are divided on everything?

Anyway, that's besides the point.

Well, after thinking about it,

I think it makes sense for the crazy guy to win.

I'll Tell You Why...

Because he has nothing to lose.
Even if he does have something to lose, he doesn't let it stop him.

He relishes the thrill of the challenge.

While the crazy guy just goes all in without reservation,

the smart guy is holding back, pulling his punches and avoiding conflict. The smart guy is thinking about the consequences of failure. What if something goes wrong? What if I lose it it all?

Shattered Dreams Because I Ain't Crazy Enough

I've seen this first hand. Back in my days as a youth, I had dreams of being a DJ (Listen to some of my mixes). And because of this I attended a lot of late night parties. As you all know, late night means drunk. when you put together a bunch of drunk men and drunk women, conflict is bound to arise. In these cases, the ugly, scarred and almost unlovable people would seek out conflict and not pull back. Whereas the still pretty, still charming, unscarred, unblemished people would always pull back because they didn't want to get scars on their pretty faces.

Now, when it comes to business, are you behaving like the ugly, scar-faced drunkard or the pretty, soft-like-a-marshmallow smart person?

Are you obsessed with your craft and always ready to engage whether the odds are in your favor or not?

If you're pulling back, I think you need to get scars on your face so you can start going all in without reservation.

I think you need to stop letting fear of the unknown stop you from going after the thing you want.

You need to be obsessed with serving your customers to the point where you don't care that people call you crazy.

What's The Worst That Could Happen?

What's that one business idea that keeps pulling you back no matter how far you try to run from it?

In which area of your life are trying to act smart even though every fibre of your being is calling for you to be crazy?

What's the worst that could happen if you decided to go all in and pursue the one goal that will make you the happiest, richest, craziest, lovingest, loyalest, and bestest you could ever be?

Maybe it's time to start honoring your preferences and pursue your most authentic and important goals.

Come on now, let's all go crazy...

According to billionaire investors, crazy guy always wins, right?

So why are you still not crazy? Do you not want it bad enough?
