Let’s continue our fun with alphabets discussion that we started last week. In the previous video, we gave you the success principles from A to M. As we conclude the series, we share with you success principles from N to Z. We trust that you will enjoy it. Feel free to share your views in the comments section below.
Networking:
Many experienced motivational speakers like Brian Tracy & Jack Canfield suggest that your network = your net worth. A powerful network will keep you updated on the latest developments in your field. It will also allow you to share ideas and benefit from the combined efforts of your peer group.
Opportunity:
Always be vigilant and seize opportunities when they arise. Don’t be afraid to take initiative and create opportunities for yourself. It is very seldom that opportunity comes knocking at your door. Do not squander opportunities. Create opportunities for others as well as yourself to advance and become successful.
Plan:
Know your current position, determine where you are heading and do what needs to be done to get there. Answer these three questions: 1. What do you want to achieve? 2. What stops you from getting there? 3. How will you close the gap?
Quality:
There no shortcuts to success. Each time you try to cheat, you end up only cheating yourself. Your products and services must add value to the customer – they must bring a positive change to his current circumstances. A wise billionaire once described success as “What you do when no one is looking.” Ask yourself, what do you do when no one is looking? Do you cut corners? Stop that now.
Relations:
No business can succeed in isolation. There are always strategic partnerships that can be leveraged to move your business from a start-up to an empire in a fairly short space of time. Seek out these partnerships and nourish them. Always be growing your network – not just the number, but the quality as well.
Satisfaction:
When your customers are not happy with your services, they are not likely to return. Remember one thing, your business is just a hobby if you don’t have paying customers. Are you playing games or are you trying to make a profit?
Teamwork:
A Jack of all trades is usually a master of none. Don’t be afraid to delegate or outsource jobs at which you aren’t particularly gifted. “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want o go far, go in a team.” Build a team that complements each other and that is willing to work towards a common objective.
Understanding:
Understand your goals and objectives – understand your team’s expectations and their strengths and weaknesses – understand your competition - understand your customers’ needs – understand your business strategy –understand your business entirely.
Versatility:
Be flexible – adapt quickly to the changing environment so you can position yourself to take advantage of opportunities as soon as they present themselves. To learn more about dealing with change, read Who Moved My Cheese.
Worth:
Remember that the primary purpose of your small business is to serve your life, not the other way around. If your business no longer adds value to your life then it is time to re-evaluate. Add value to the customers – make your business worthy of recommendation.
Xcitement:
Add life to your business – let your customers see and feel the passion. Transfer the energy and enthusiasm to your employees and customers; and anyone else who is involved with your business in some way.
Yearning:
To succeed you need to have the desire and resolve to succeed. Be determined and don’t stop trying. Don’t quit on yourself. Don’t quit on your business.
Zoom-in:
Focus on achieving your goal. Focus on being the best. Scattered thoughts are weak and ineffective – Focused effort is powerful beyond measure.
There you have it, folks. Have your say.
